Six families from La Fortuna in San Carlos, a city in the north of Costa Rica, are trying to develop rural tourism in that region. This type of tourism represents an alternative to add value to the agricultural industry in the area as well as an opportunity for the families to reach their goals.

Creation of eight regional offices to boost rural tourism in 2007
The Ministry of Tourism is creating eight regional offices this year in order to support small tourism enterprises that are located outside the Metropolitan Area in rural communities and away from the main beaches.

HILTON HOTELS CHAIN WILL TAKE CONTROL OF FIESTA HOTELS

The international Chain of Hilton Hotels announced on January 5th the signing of multi-annual administrative agreements with Caribbean Real Estate Opportunity Fund to operate and manage two hotels in Costa Rica: Fiesta and Premier Fiesta Resort & Spa, the first one located in Puntarenas and the second one in Papagayo, Guanacaste.
